Kia ora!
Hey, I’m Ruby – a designer who loves making things clearer, kinder, and more human.

System Evaluation and Optimisation
As a modern designer, I have the privilege of using design thinking to evaluate and improve societal problems and challenges. During my Design for Social Innovation degree, I was challenged to research and explore systems/ problems and find ways to improve them. Examples include poverty in Wellington, factory farming in Aotearoa and waste production. I carried these skills into my role at ThinkPlace, where I worked on some important projects to help make change for people in New Zealand.

Research and critical evaluating
I have experience in research and critical evaluation, focusing on understanding complex systems and uncovering opportunities for improvement. My approach combines deep analysis, creative problem-solving, and a people-centered perspective. From academic studies to professional projects, I’ve learnt how to research efficiently and to create meaningful insights.

Visual Communication
I believe visual communication brings research and evaluation to the next level. It is one thing to create powerful insights, but they are useless if not understandable and accessible to as many people as possible. I enjoy creating engaging reports and deliverables to bring stories to life. I have experience in visual mediums such as drawing, adobe softwares, photography and painting.
